Forza Motorsport 6 is set to cross the finish line on Xbox One September 15. The game is the latest in a longstanding franchise that sets the bar for visual fidelity and authenticity in its digital recreation of vehicles. In advance of this, we’re treated to a fun trailer that has us completely amped for the game. It takes us through a brief history of classic racing titles, complete with a chiptune rendition of Electric Six‘s dance/rock hit, “Danger! High Voltage,” before bringing us to current-day visuals along with the totally bangin’ chorus to the song. Considering we listen to Electric Six every time we drive, this hits us right the feels, man.

For people of a certain age, there is no cooler toy/cartoon franchise than the 1980s take on The Transformers. It was the world’s introduction to the robots in disguise and featured instantly recognizable brightly-colored larger-than-life characters with personalities almost as huge as their robot forms. Within the last decade there have been a number of new series that fall under the brand’s umbrella, including the laughably terrible but exceptionally profitable series of “films” by Michael Bay – films that all but stripped away the character and color from one of the most beloved cartoons ever.
Despite the popularity of the theatrical releases Hasbro has, to their credit and thanks to die-hard fans, kept the G1 spirit alive here and there, notably with the recent release of the Combiner Wars toy line, the ongoing Masterpiece toy line, and sporadic G1 toy reissues. Now G1 fans have another reason to be excited: Transformers: Devastation is about to crash land on consoles. Just take a look at that above screenshot (and the gallery below). It looks better than the cartoon ever did.
Bethesda set the gaming world on fire this week with its announcement trailer for Fallout 4, despite the fact that everyone saw it coming. As someone who has dabbled in casual adventuring through the Capital Wasteland of Fallout 3, I was mildly curious to see what this first glimpse of the game would bring. I wasn’t expecting much. Teaser trailers are just that – absolute teases. But I found the Fallout 4 teaser trailer to be more of a tease than most, and for a totally different reason.
The first life form we see in the trailer is a German Shepherd examining what remains of what was once a cozy home. I want to play the game as that dog.
It’s that time of the year again. You know the time I’m talking about. It’s the time of year when people go to the beach, light up their barbecues, and gather around their computers to watch live-streams of video-game press conferences. That’s right, it’s E3 time! The biggest video gaming event of the year is only days away, and I’m here today to share with you some of the games I hope to hear announced next week.
