It’s that time of the year again. You know the time I’m talking about. It’s the time of year when people go to the beach, light up their barbecues, and gather around their computers to watch live-streams of video-game press conferences. That’s right, it’s E3 time! 2015 looks to be a banner year for rhythm games. For years, the plastic clickity-clacks of guitar controllers filled the living rooms of gamers around the world. But with the oversaturation of Activision’s Guitar Hero franchise (later, Band Hero), and Harmonix’s juggernaut full band experience Rock Band, it was only natural that the hype eventually died down. With E3 just around the corner, we’ve already been teased with bits of info on Guitar Hero Live and Rock Band 4, titles which promise a return to glory for living room rock legends. But I’m more excited about another upcoming music game.
I used to play a lot of Star Wars: Battlefront on PC prior to jumping on board with the HD console generation. Friday evenings would consist of makeshift LAN parties with me and my buddy Adam. He’d cart his entire PC over to my house, set up in another bedroom, and we’d battle it out, either against each other or against random folks online. Coordinating our attacks proved to be the most fun, though we could never decide who should pilot the AT-AT.
Can’t wait for EA to release the new Star Wars: Battlefront on November 17, 2015.
